Getting Started

What to expect.

Fill out our new client form online. When you do, you can choose a time with a therapist directly, or simply submit the form and we will reach out within one business day to match you, verify your insurance, and get your first appointment scheduled. Either way, we handle the details. Email is our preferred way to connect.
You will receive your intake documents through a secure, HIPAA-compliant client portal. There you can review our policies, give consent for treatment and billing, and answer a few background questions. We will also ask for a photo ID, and if you are using insurance, images of the front and back of your insurance card. These are completed before your first session so we can spend that time on you.
Once your first session is scheduled, you will get a link to your private, HIPAA-compliant video session by email. Find a quiet, comfortable space and hop on a few minutes early in case anything needs troubleshooting. The first session is a chance to share what brings you in, a little about your background and the things that matter to you, and to start shaping where you want to go together. If you have any trouble getting set up, just reach out to your therapist.
Virtual therapy lets you get real support from a space where you already feel comfortable, no commute, no waiting room. It makes scheduling around work and life easier, opens the door to a therapist who truly fits your needs rather than whoever is nearby, and keeps your care consistent even when life gets busy or you are traveling. For a lot of our clients, being in their own space makes it easier to open up.
A typical session is about 55 minutes.
That is up to you, and your therapist will help you find the right rhythm. Most new clients start with weekly sessions, since regular meetings help you build momentum and work through things as they come up. If you need more intensive support, we can offer more frequent sessions too. We will always meet you where you are.

The money part.

We are in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Blue Care Network, and Priority Health, and we verify your benefits for you before your first session. For private pay, our intake session is $175 and ongoing sessions are $160. You will find full details on insurance, rates, billing, and our cancellation policy on our Insurance and Fees page.

Good to Know

General questions.

A lot of people come in with specific things they want to work on, and you and your therapist will move toward those at a pace that feels right. It is also completely okay to not know exactly what you want yet, sometimes that becomes clear as you go. Therapy gives you a supportive, confidential space to understand yourself better and build real tools for the things that have felt heavy.
It depends on you and your goals. Some people feel a shift within a few sessions, while others find deeper change over longer-term work. You and your therapist will build a plan together and talk openly about what progress looks like for you.
If you have been carrying emotional stress, navigating hard relationships, working on personal growth, or you simply want to feel more like yourself, therapy can help. You do not have to be in crisis to deserve support. Wanting things to feel different is reason enough, and the first step is just reaching out.
Sometimes you know after one session, and sometimes it takes a few before you realize the connection or approach is not quite right. That is completely normal, and finding the right fit is part of our job. If someone else would serve you better, we will help connect you, within IPG or beyond it. Seeking the right fit is part of investing in yourself.
No. Many of our clients come in without a formal diagnosis, they just know something is not working. A diagnosis can be useful, but it is never a requirement. What matters is what you are experiencing, not what it is officially called.
We do not, we are a therapy practice. If medication is worth exploring, we coordinate with trusted psychiatry partners and help guide you through that process so nothing falls through the cracks.
